We are currently enrolling in all of our Themed Summer Camps and Training Camps, and we’d love to help you spice things up!

At DU Summer Camp, we’re entirely focused on making their summer days incredible! That means no more listening to work meetings or watching TV alone… Hooray!

• A chance to dance in a low-stakes, creative environment. While our school year classes are more focused on skill-building, summer camps are all about being creative and learning through play. Our main goal is to see our students smile! 
• Time with their friends and peers. When school is out, kids start to miss their friends! Summer camp gives them time to see one another while taking the pressure off of YOU to schedule a playdate!

On top of themed camps for ages 3-7, we also offer two training opportunities for older dancers. They are open to the entire Augusta community and are geared towards dancers who want to challenge themselves over the summer. Students will enjoy 4 full days of ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, contemporary, acro, musical theatre, and more. Classes will be fresh, exciting, and sure to take your dancing to the next level!

We adore the amount of positivity and carefree energy that we see in our students during the summer, which is precisely why we see summer dance as SO beneficial for them!

Even our tiniest dancers get a chance to dance during the summer! From Twirling Twos and Preschool Dance, to Princess and Fairytale Camps, we’ve got just what your preschooler needs to have a sensational time this summer! Here’s what they’ll gain from dancing with us:

Preschoolers need constant socialization and opportunities to put their social skills to the test! Taking turns, personal space, and being kind are all things we’ll be practicing this summer.

For kids ages 6+, (and our DUPC dancers), we’ve got technique classes galore this summer! Divided up by levels that correspond with your dancer’s school year class level, we’ve got everything you need to keep your training moving full speed ahead!

1. Keeping Up With Skills All Year Round!
Our students make SO much progress during the school year and we hate seeing them lose it after not dancing for 3 months. We’ll be doing technique drills, strengthening our bodies, and building muscle memory in classes this summer!

2. Heightened Focus
Summer gives your child a chance to really hone in on their dance skills without the added stress of the school year. Our summer students are always more focused and engaged without their busy schedules and homework stress! 

3. Intensive Experiences
Every summer we offer 3 Summer Camps that are jam-packed with amazing training! Our Diva Camp, Shooting Star Camp, and All Star Experience camp will help your dancer take their dancing to the next level!

4. A Leg up for DUPC Auditions

If you’re coming off of a year spent mostly at home, it may be difficult to know if your child is ready for in-person activities once again. You may have questions about returning, and we’re here to ease your worries! 

How To Know If Your Child Is Ready for Summer Dance Camps:

1. They Understand How to Stay Safe With Others

During this strange time, you may be wondering if it is safe to send your little one to social activities. In our experience, our dance students have adapted SO well. As long as your child is comfortable wearing a mask, refraining from touching others, and keeping a distance, they are ready to join us! 

We also strongly encourage talking to your child about handwashing and best hygiene practices, but we’ll remind them along the way as well. Check out the rest of our COVID-19 safety procedures here! 

2. They Have a BIG Imagination! 

If your little one is obsessed with fairytale adventures and whimsical stories, they belong at our 2021 Summer Dance Camps! Separated by age, we’re offering two magical camp options this summer for kids ages 3-7.

Princess Camp: Ages 3-5
July 8-9 & August 3-4
Does your child LOVE to get dressed up and feel like royalty?! Polish off those tiaras and waltz over to our Royal Dance Hall for ballet class, creative movement, crafts, and a snack in the banquet hall! 

Fairytale Camp: Ages 5-7
July 12-15 & August 9-12
Has your little one memorized the words to ALL their favorite fairytale music? It’s time for us to put some dance moves to those tunes as we delightfully journey through ballet and creative movement classes!

3. They Are Missing Their Friends

For those families who didn’t feel comfortable returning to the studio this Fall, we’ve missed you so much! If your comfort levels have changed and your child misses playtime with friends, our camps are perfect for their summer calendars! Connecting with others, dancing their hearts out, and expressing themselves is what our Summer Camp experience is ALL about! 

4. They Love to Get Up and MOVE!

Is your child bouncing off the walls at home? Do they love being active and getting their energy out? Send them our way this summer! Packed with movement activities, engaging crafts, and dance foundations, summer camps are a great way to stay active. We promise they’ll be ready for a nap once they head back your way!

Before quarantine, we thought we loved dance. After all, we’ve dedicated our lives to sharing dance with young students. BUT… we didn’t love dance like we do right now. These hectic times make any bit of dancing feel like a dreamy vacation. Yes, we have fallen in love with dance… AGAIN!

We love dance because it allows us to let go. It gives our minds a chance to sit back and let our body take the lead. It gets our heart pumping, but not in a “lets’ do 30 mins of cardio” way, but an “I want to get up and MOVE” kind of way. Dancing is our safe haven, our creative outlet, and our party time all wrapped up into one. Put simply, dance means the world to us.

2020 Summer Camps in Augusta

Princess Camp (July 21-22, 9am-11am)

You are cordially invited to the Royal Dance Hall! Let your Prince or Princess shine with all the Royal Treatment in this two-day mini-camp. 

What to Expect
Dancers will have ballet class, creative movement, craft time, and of course a snack in the Banquet Hall. 

Is this right for my dancer?
This camp is for dancers ages 3-5. If your child loves being pampered and living their fanciest life, this camp is perfect for you! Princes and Princesses are welcome!

Unicorn Confetti Camp (July 7-10, 9am-11:30am)

Join us for a one of a kind magical adventure over the rainbow to a land of unicorns and magic! 

What to Expect
Every day we will enter a world filled with the MAGIC of unicorns, rainbows, and confetti in lyrical, jazz, and hip hop classes! Your child will be showered with magic as they create one of a kind, magical crafts. This camp fills up fast so be sure to register today!

Is this right for my dancer?
If your 5-9 year old is OBSESSED with all things rainbows and unicorns, this 4-day camp will be a dream come true! We’ve got crafts and dance routines that soar through the clouds, so be sure to send your dancer who’s not afraid to let their creativity sparkle! 

A Frozen Adventure: Fairytale Camp (Aug 17-20, 9am-11:30am)

Let your little one begin an exciting, new chapter this summer in our Elsa inspired fairytale camp.  

What to Expect
A magical journey through ballet, and creative movement classes with their favorite Frozen characters and songs. 

Is this right for my dancer?
This camp is perfect for any 4-7 year old with an adventurous spirit! If they can’t get enough of Elsa and Anna’s songs, we are ready to put some dance moves to those musical numbers. 

Age-Specific Dance Camps

Rising Star Camp (Ages 7-10): July 13-17, 9am-12pm
Shooting Star Camp (Ages 8-14): Aug 3-7, 9am-3pm
Allstar Camp (Ages 13-18): July 27-31, 9am-3pm

What to Expect
A week of fun and intensive training. Classes in ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop, contemporary, conditioning, dance history, and more depending on age.

These week-long camps are for the dancer who is ready to take their training to the next level and hit the stage next dance season. If your dancer enjoys perfecting their skills and becoming a stellar performer, these camps are perfect for you!
