EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT

The role:

This is a right-hand role. You'll be the person who helps keep the studio running smoothly behind the scenes while supporting our Executive Director in managing priorities, projects, communications, and day-to-day operations.

This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys balancing multiple priorities, loves creating systems and organization, and takes pride in making sure nothing slips through the cracks. No two days are exactly alike. One day, you may be coordinating event logistics, managing communications, and organizing projects. Next, you may be assisting with studio operations, supporting families, and helping execute a major recital or community event.

If you enjoy organized, purposeful work and find satisfaction in helping a team succeed, this may be the perfect opportunity for you.

What you'll do:

  • Manage the studio director's calendar, scheduling, and inbox so their time is protected and their priorities are clear
  • Coordinate communications with students, families, and vendors -- responding to inquiries with warmth, professionalism, and excellent customer service
  • Support event planning and logistics for recitals, showcases, workshops, and community activities
  • Keep project management systems, databases, and internal processes organized and up to date
  • Assist with social media coordination, email newsletters, and content scheduling
  • Handle light bookkeeping tasks, including invoicing, expense tracking, and payment follow-ups
  • Prepare documents, meeting agendas, reports, and leadership materials
  • Help create and improve systems that increase efficiency and organization throughout the studio
  • Serve as a welcoming point of contact for studio guests, helping maintain the positive culture we're known for
  • Anticipate needs, solve problems, and help ensure important projects stay on track

What we're looking for:

  • 2+ years of experience as an executive assistant, operations coordinator, or similar support role
  • Exceptional organizational skills -- you notice what others miss and love having a system for everything
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • A natural customer service mindset and a genuine desire to create exceptional experiences for families
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace, WordPress, Go High Level, Canva, project management tools (Trello, Asana, or similar), and basic social media platforms
  • A proactive mindset -- you anticipate needs before they're asked and take ownership of your responsibilities
  • The ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude
  • Strong problem-solving skills and confidence working independently
  • Discretion and trustworthiness when handling confidential information
  • A genuine appreciation for community, the arts, or working with families is a big plus

Experience in a dance studio, performing arts organization, educational environment, or small business is a plus, but not required.

Schedule & work environment:

This role is primarily based at our Augusta studio, with hybrid flexibility available for certain responsibilities after training. Candidates should be comfortable with occasional evening and weekend hours during performances, events, registration periods, and other key studio activities.

What we offer:

  • A genuinely supportive, family-oriented team that values your contributions
  • Meaningful work that positively impacts children and families in our community
  • Flexible scheduling with hybrid work options available
  • Complimentary or discounted dance classes for you and your family
  • Opportunities for professional growth and increased responsibility
  • The opportunity to grow with a studio that's investing in its future
  • Competitive pay commensurate with experience
  • 401K plan

How to apply:

We'd love to hear from you. Please send the following to hiring@dance-u.com:

  • A brief cover note (no more than a paragraph) telling us why this role speaks to you
  • Your resume
  • One example of a system, process, or tool you've built or improved in a previous role

We review applications on a rolling basis and will reach out to candidates whose background is a strong fit. We can't wait to find the right person to grow with us.
