Our Mini Company is made up of dancers ages 6-9, making them our youngest group of performers. These dancers were selected by invitation only and are required to take weekly technique classes in Ballet, Tap, and Jazz. Hip Hop and Acro classes are optional but encouraged. The Mini Company is a great introduction to what it’s like to be a part of the DUPC!

To help our DU families get to know a little bit more about our Mini Company, we asked them a few fun questions. Read their answers below!

Sailor D. 

How long have you been dancing at DU? 4 years

Favorite style of dance? Hip hop and lyrical 

Favorite food? Pork

Who is your favorite celebrity and why? Sofie Dossi because I love watching and learning how to be a contortionist just her. I also love Lucille Ball from I Love Lucy because she is so funny and my favorite episode is The Girls Want To Go To A Nightclub. 

Favorite TV show or movie? I have two favorite shows on Netflix and one is Cobra Kai because I love to try and copy all the karate moves. The other is All Of Us Are Dead because I love Zombies and love pretending to act like one. On tv I love watching Dr. Pimple Popper and I try to practice on my dad but he won’t let me. My favorite movies are Life of The Party and The Lost City because they’re so funny! 

What would you do with a billion dollars? I would buy the most fashionable clothes, a Gucci bag, Versace perfume, and buy myself a car. 

Besides dance, what are you really good at? I’m really good at doing makeup, basketball, swimming, doing math, baking, training dogs, and being an actress and fashion star. 

What is one of your goals for the future? My goal is to dance really hard so I can travel. I’m really hoping to dance in Europe, Hawaii, Paris, and New York.

How long have you been dancing at DU? 6 years

Favorite style of dance? Modern

Favorite food? Sushi

Who is your favorite celebrity and why? Taylor Swift because I like her songs.

Favorite TV show or movie? Mandalorian

What would you do with a billion dollars? Help the poor. 

Besides dance, what are you really good at? Sports and art.

What is one of your goals for the future? Stylist. 

Teagan R.

How long have you been dancing at DU? 6 years

Favorite style of dance? Jazz

Favorite food? Ice cream

Who is your favorite celebrity and why? Taylor Swift – I like her music. 

Favorite TV show or movie? The Descendants. 

What would you do with a billion dollars?  If I had a billion dollars, I would buy an airplane and go to Hawaii and other places.

Besides dance, what are you really good at? I think I’m really good at art.

What is one of your goals for the future? I want to become a better dancer and wear pointe shoes.

Favorite food? Saucy franks and breakfast sandwiches

What would you do with a billion dollars?  Buy Target’s toy section!

What is one of your goals for the future? Take care of babies.

Emma G.

What would you do with a billion dollars? Go to Disney World as many times as I could

Favorite food? Buttered noodles with marinara on the side

Who is your favorite celebrity and why? Kerri Strug because she worked hard and did her best to win a gold medal even though she was injured

What would you do with a billion dollars? Go to Hawaii to see the whales

What is one of your goals for the future? I want to be a marine biologist and study whales.

Olivia R.

What would you do with a billion dollars? I would go to a Katy Perry concert and I would go to Florida.

What is one of your goals for the future? To be a better and stronger dancer

Our Mini DUPC has had an amazing season so far! Last month, our Mini Team had their first performance for the Maine Bulldogs at the Kennebec Valley YMCA. They performed a holiday dance at halftime and we were so proud of their bravery. Take a look at an adorable moment from the performance!

Catch our DUPC Mini Team perform at our 2024 Recital. What an amazing group of young dancers! We can’t wait to see what these dancers accomplish this season and in the years to come at DU. They have big dreams for the future, and we’re here to support them every step of the way.
