Hip-hop dance incorporates a unique variety of old and new urban dance styles, including breakdance (breaking, b-boying), popping, and locking.
Hip-hop and Breakdance Technique
Hip-hop dance is a dynamic and improvisational dance style with jumps, freezes, isolations, and rotations in movement. Hip hop helps dancers to improve flexibility, strength, coordination, and endurance all while keeping dancers engaged and challenged.
At Dance Unlimited, we provide structured and engaging dance classes that will develop the students’ tricks skills and enhance their own personal hip-hop/breakdance style. Acrobatic elements of breakdancing are introduced in all hip-hop classes. As students gain strength and coordination in their skills, they will learn more challenging breakdance elements at their own individual pace. To enhance performance skills and provide a true hip-hop experience, breakdance battles are also held throughout the program. Our talented, energetic, and friendly instructors will have you battling and breaking in no time.
Class levels follow a general syllabus to allow the students to continue their training in a class best suited to their skill level and learning style. At the completion of every school year, dancers showcase their hip-hop and breakdance skills in the annual recital.
